If you’re not going to miss the money it costs to buy one, then it’s better to purchase it in the long run.. Bad thing about that is, if lightning runs in on it, then it’s your loss.

Its better to buy a GUN. 200 dollars for a plain easy to maintain pistol grip shotgun. The bugulars would probaly kill you before the cops even showed up.

I much prefer Brinks, you can get them to install it for free if you tell the salesperson you are checking with all companies in your area. You will have to sign a two year contract but it is only 30 a month. BTW they will try to talk you in to the motion detectors “they are free”. If you have pets this is a BAD choice, tell them you want to substitute a remote or another keypad. Trust me, if you make them wait a week, while you “shop around” they will roll over and give you whatever you want!

I own my security system. Then you can decide to have the monitoring contract or just use the alarms.
You could do it yourself by buying parts from Sears or another home retailer. You can see what is offered by going to the below site.

If you do the numbers for both, probably real close. I leased for three years and then the equipment was mine.

To purchase a home security system is better considering that it becomes your own rather than leasing which puts yourself as a naked owner. The bad part of leasing is to make you a payor for property without owning it unlike in purchase.

Stay away from the nation-wide large security companies. You’ll have a much better service relationship with a smaller local company. Large companies just want your monitoring dollar, they couldn’t care less about your security needs or service. With a small company, you’ll end up having to buy your equipment, and entering into a yearly monitoring contract. Be sure and test your system at least once a month, or as suggested by your installer.
