Well im looking to secure my home with an alarm system. I basically want a company that offers a free system that I get to keep if I ever cancel the contract, and thats under $40/month. So far I know of the following companies in Connecticut:

-ADT
-Brinks
-protection one
-Safe Home Security (SHS)

If there are any other companies that you would recommend post em, and please suggest a company that meets my specs.

I purchased a home that has a security system installed. It has motion sensors in some rooms, and door sensors on every exterior door. I know it is functional as I see it respond to the various sensors, but do not know the code to arm it. The previous owner’s disconnected the service to the company that calls the police and forgot the code. I just want to use it as a passive system that sounds the alarm when breached, but cannot arm it without the code. Any guesses on how i can set it? The manufacturer of the alarm is no longer in business, but is Apollo Security.

Someone I know plays psychological mind games all day with me. I’m getting sick of it and caught myself several times on the brink of going off on them. Does anyone know how to stop the mind games and just get them to leave you alone?

Have anyone worked with this company. What a rip-off! Technical folks do not know how to transfer and they still charge you, even you do not have their monitoring system. To cancel the service not being rendered, you need to send a notarized letter (you don’t need this for Brinks, ADT etc.) and still charges you for 60 days. I should file this with the consumer court. Any experiences?
